Mangupura, March 22, 2025 – After previously operating two domestic routes to and from Bali, Transnusa Airlines has officially launched its first international service with the Bali – Perth, Australia route on Thursday (March 20). This marks Transnusa’s inaugural international flight at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport – Bali.

“With Transnusa now operating international flights, passengers have more options for overseas travel, which is certainly an added value for our airport services,” said Ahmad Syaugi Shahab, General Manager of PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport – Bali.

The inaugural Transnusa flight, 8B-081, operated with an Airbus A320, landed in Denpasar carrying 114 passengers at 6:30 PM WITA. The service is scheduled to operate three times a week, on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

With the addition of Transnusa, flights to Perth are now served by five airlines: Indonesia AirAsia, Citilink, Jetstar Airways, Batik Air, Batik Air Malaysia, and Transnusa. Previously, Transnusa only served domestic routes at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, namely flights to Jakarta (CGK) and Manado.

“Australia currently has the largest number of routes served at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport – Bali, with nine direct flight connections to Adelaide, Brisbane, Cairns, Canberra, Gold Coast, Darwin, Melbourne, Perth, and Sydney. The opening of Transnusa’s international route is expected to create a positive impact on tourism in both Australia and Indonesia, while strengthening connectivity between the two countries,” Syaugi added.

He continued: “We extend our appreciation to Transnusa for its inaugural international service at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport – Bali. We hope this milestone will open up greater opportunities for Transnusa to further expand its operations with more international routes in the future.”

As additional information, I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport currently serves 23 domestic routes operated by 12 airlines and 38 international routes operated by 42 airlines. By February 2025, the airport had already served 3.6 million passengers in total, with a target of handling 24.6 million passengers throughout 2025.
