Mangupura, May 2, 2025 – I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport has once again strengthened its reputation as a world-class airport. This year, Bali’s main gateway was recognized as one of the Best Regional Airports in Asia 2025 at the Skytrax World Airport Awards held in Spain on April 9, 2025.

Previously, I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport had received the title of Best Airport of 15–25 Million Passengers in Asia Pacific from Airports Council International (ACI) for three consecutive years.

General Manager of PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Ahmad Syaugi Shahab, stated in a press release that participation in the Skytrax global airport ranking serves as one of the benchmarks to evaluate the airport’s service quality, particularly for passengers.

“I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport successfully secured sixth place as the best regional airport in Asia. This achievement was based on two evaluation methods: a passenger survey conducted since September 2024, and an audit or verification carried out by the Skytrax team at the end of March 2025. Every touch point, from departure to arrival processes, was thoroughly audited,” he explained.

According to Skytrax, the World Airport Awards have been held since 1999 and are regarded as a global benchmark for quality in the aviation industry. The survey covers 44 service and facility aspects, including: check-in experience, accessibility to and from the airport, availability of amenities such as trolleys, Wi-Fi, children’s play areas, shopping and dining facilities (restaurants/cafés/bars), security screening, immigration services, cleanliness of terminals and public areas, comfort, atmosphere and terminal design, staff friendliness, as well as the ease of accessing information through the airport’s official website.

Syaugi further emphasized that this recognition is a testament to the comprehensive transformation program implemented by Angkasa Pura Indonesia. At I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, the transformation included the revitalization and beautification project completed in 2024. In addition to infrastructure and facility improvements, the airport has also invested in human resources development to continuously meet evolving global standards and passenger expectations.

“Our operations and services align with the company’s transformation pillars. Premises focuses on infrastructure and facility readiness for all airport users, not just passengers. People emphasizes the competence and responsiveness of airport personnel in delivering service. Process reflects our collaboration with airport stakeholders,” said Syaugi.

“Another key focus is the implementation of technology-driven airport operations, ensuring that our services are more effective, efficient, and well-controlled,” he added.

With this achievement, I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport management extends its highest appreciation to the community, passengers, local government, and all stakeholders who have continuously supported the airport’s operations and contributed to the realization of its vision: to be a world-class airport that Indonesia can be proud of.
